Olga Kefalogianni

Minister of Tourism

Olga Kefalogianni was born in Athens in 1975.

She is a graduate of the School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1997) and holds two postgraduate degrees, from King’s College, University of London (LL.M, 1998) and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston (GMAP, 2006).

She has worked in large law firms in Athens and New York, as well as in the Legal Service of the European Commission in Brussels.

From 2004 to 2006 she was an associate of Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis in legal matters.

She was elected Member of Parliament for the Prefecture of Rethymno (2007 and 2009), and, since 2012, she has been elected to the Athens A’ constituency (2012, 2015, 2019, 2023).

She served as Minister of Tourism in Prime Minister Antonis Samaras government (2012 – 2015).

She has also served as Head of the Greek parliamentary delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (I.P.U), ambassador of the Greek Parliament to the Women Political Leaders (WPL) network, and member of the parliamentary committees of National Defense and Foreign Affairs, Production and Trade, Institutions and Transparency, European Affairs and Armament Programs and Contracts.

She is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for Policy Studies on Gender and Equality – (KEMEFI) of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).

She is married to composer Minos Matsas and they have two children.

Theodoros Skylakakis

Minister of Environment & Energy

He was born in 1959 in Athens. He is an economist. Member of Parliament of the New Democracy (2022-2023). Minister of Environment and Energy from June 2023. Deputy Minister of Finance, responsible for Fiscal Policy and responsible for the preparation and coordination of the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” (2020-2023). Deputy Minister of Fiscal Policy (2019-2020), Member of the European Parliament (2009-2014), Secretary General of International Economic Relations and Development Cooperation (2006-2009), Municipal Councillor, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Athens (2003 – 2006), with responsibility for the preparation for the 2004 Olympic Games. From 1990 to 1993 he was Advisor to Prime Minister Constantinos Mitsotakis and Head of the Prime Minister’s Planning and Communication Office.

He also served as President and General Director of the E21 Research Center (1994-2001). He was the last President of Action (2014-2019), which suspended its activity to support New Democracy.

He has worked in the field of advertising and communication since 1985 and has founded four companies in the fields of communication (1994-1999), crisis management (2000-2006) and agricultural production & processing (2014-2019).

He studied economics in Greece (Economics EKPA) and business administration (MBA) in England (City University, London) and received a postgraduate diploma from the British Market Research Society in Market Research. He received a PhD from the Department of History and Philosophy of Science of the University of Athens, on the subject: “Social tolerance of corruption”.

He is married to Eleni Papapanou, has two daughters, Marianna and Irini, and four granddaughters.

Dimitris Fragakis

Secretary General at Greek National Tourism Organization

He was born on July 13, 1972. He comes from Platanias, Crete and grew up in Chania.

He has served as General Secretary of the Municipality of Chania, while he has a postgraduate diploma from the School of Law and Political Science of the University of Athens.

He has worked for 20 years, among other things, as a research associate in the Diplomatic Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also, as Deputy General Director of the Konstantinos Mitsotakis Foundation as well as as a scientific collaborator in the Greek Parliament. He was an advisor to Kyriakos Mitsotakis when he was Minister of Administrative Reform & e-Government.

On August 28, 2019, he assumed the duties of General Secretary of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) with the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

He runs a tourism business, speaks excellent English and good Italian, is married and has a son.

Alexandros Vassilikos

President of HCH

Alexandros Vassilikos was born in Athens in 1976 to a Greek father, a self-made hotelier-business man, and a French mother. He was raised in Athens and attended the French-Hellenic school with a very diverse group of peers. He holds a Masters’ degree in Economics and Finance, with studies in Nantes, France and London, U.K.

Alexandros officially enters the family business in 1998 as a second generation hotelier. At the age of 24, he is appointed COO of AIROTEL Group and a year later, after the sudden loss of his father he becomes CEO of AIROTEL Group.

With the Athens 2004 Olympic Games in view, he drives the group into a modernization period by renovating its assets in Athens.

Despite the economic crisis, he expands the chain by doubling the company’s assets in Patra and adding a long term lease in Kavala. Also, AIROTEL expands in Crete by buying, refurbishing and selling traditional houses.

Seeing the potential for growth in Greek summer residences, under Alexandros’ chairmanship, AIROTEL purchases more than 20 houses across picturesque mountain villages of south-eastern Crete. These houses are then refurbished and sold.

In 2007 Webotel SA is founded, a company dedicated to the online representation of hotels in Greece.

In parallel to his professional obligations, he was elected President of the Athens – Attica Hotels Association in 2012. He was also Member of the Executive Council and Vice-President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and Superintendent of Public Relations of the Panhellenic Federation of Hoteliers. He was also a Member of the Board of the Association of Greek Tourist Enterprises (SETE) from 2011 to May 2017.

In January 2018 he resigns all former positions after being elected President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the youngest person ever to hold this position since the creation of the institution in 1935.

In October 2018 he is elected as a member of the Executive Committee of HOTREC, the umbrella Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Pubs and Cafes and similar establishments in Europe.

Finally, being a French national, Alexandre was also appointed economic adviser to the French Embassy in Athens in 2008, a position he actively holds to this day.

Ioannis Hatzis

President of the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation

Yannis Hatzis is the executive chairman and co-owner of Blue Sea Resort Collection. The group owns and operates 6 hotel units, with a total capacity of 3,500 beds, operating under 4 brands.

He graduated in 2008 from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) and continued his postgraduate studies, initially in Paris, ESSEC Business School and then in London, London School of Economics (B.Sc., MBA, M.Sc.). In 2016 he completed all the requirements to be awarded the CFA Charter.

He was recently elected as President of the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation whilst he is a member of the Board of Directors of the local Hotel Owner Federation since 2014. He participates as a member of the B.o.D. indifferent organizations.

George Vilos

Executive Director, Commercial & Business Development, Fraport Greece

George Vilos has long experience in the fields of strategic, commercial and business development.

For more than fifteen years he was working at Copelouzos Group by holding top management and BoD positions in a number of the Group’s companies in the fields of concessions, renewable energy sources and media.

In the aviation sector, he has been member of the Supervisory Board at Pulkovo Airport in Saint Petersburg in Russia. Concerning the project of the 14 Greek regional airports, he was dealing with the development and execution of the concession agreement with the Greek State and the management of the transition phase until the commencement of the concession. Since 2016, he holds the position of the Executive Director of Commercial and Business Development at Fraport Greece.

George Vilos has completed his studies at City, University of London (Cass Business School) and he holds a BSc in Banking & International Finance and an MSc in Investment Management.

Marina Spyridaki

Corporate Affairs Manager, AEGEAN

Marina Spyridaki is Corporate Affairs Manager at AEGEAN, the biggest Greek airline, responsible for corporate communication, CSR/sustainability policy, and stakeholders engagement liaising with tourism stakeholders, civil society, and regulatory authorities. She has previously served as the Director of Business Environment and Regulatory Affairs at SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) and brings extensive experience in corporate communication, business representation, and policy development. Elena Rapti was born, raised and lives in Thessaloniki.

In 2021, she was appointed head of the National Action Plan for the Protection of Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation.

In 2022, she was appointed by the decision of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, National Coordinator for the Prevention and Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Minors.

In June 2023, she was appointed to the duties of Deputy Minister of Tourism.

George Patoulis

Regional Governor of Attica

George Patoulis was born in Athens, Greece. He entered the Athens Medical School and specialized in Orthopaedic surgery at the Athens Laiko Hospital, where he also wrote a doctoral thesis. He is specialised in Health Economics and graduated from the National School of Public Health.

He was elected in the Board of the “LAIKO” Hospital, while at the same time he established the Association of the Trainee Doctors of Athens and Piraeus.

In 1997, he established the “Young Doctors” Pan-Hellenic Society and in 2002 the Association of the Freelance Doctors of Attica, where he still holds the position of the Honorary President.In 1998, he was elected municipal counsellor for the first time at the Municipality of Pefki, where he has formed the institution of Municipal Medical Centre.

In 2006, he was elected for the first time Mayor of Amaroussion in the Region of Attica. In 2010, he was re-elected with 57% and in 2014 he was again elected for the third time as a Mayor with 60%.

At the same time, he established the National Hellenic Inter-Municipal Network of Healthy Cities, while he also became the President of Association of Municipalities for the Protection and Restoration of Penteliko.

In June 2011, he was elected for the first time President of the Athens Medical Association. He was re-elected in the same post in 2014 and 2018. After his recent re-election in 2022, he became the longest-serving president of the Association. In January 2012, he became one of the founding members of the SOCIAL MISSION CLINIC.

In October 2014, he was elected President of Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, while in 2015 he was elected Vice President of the Council of Municipalities and Regions of Europe (CEMR), where he was elected again in December 2016.

In February 2018, he was elected President of ELITOUR.

In the Local Administration elections in 2019, he was elected Regional Governor of Attica with 66%. In October 2019, he was elected A’ Vice-President of the Association of Regions.

In February 2020, he was elected Vice-President of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and Head of the Greek Delegation of the Committee of the Regions for the 2020-2025 term.

His term lasted 2.5 years until July 2022 and he has been a Member ever since.

He has published various articles and other work in scientific medical magazines in Greece and globally.

He has a son, Alexandros.

Maria Kamma-Aleiferi

Mayor of Tilos

The Mayor of Tilos, Mrs. Maria Kamma-Aleiferi, was born on June 2, 1970.

She completed her primary education on the island of Tilos. She studied Business & Organization Administration at the Open University and worked as an employee of the Municipality of Tilos. Later, she served at the International Center for Writers and Translators in Rhodes and, finally, as a treasurer in the municipality of Rhodes.

She first became involved in public affairs in 2010 when she was elected as a municipal councilor with the coalition of Tasos Aleiferis and was sworn in as the Mayor of the island on March 8, 2012. She was re-elected in 2019 and in the recent elections in October 2023.

Additionally, she served as the vice-president of the cultural association “The Tilinis” of Tilos in Rhodes and participated in numerous collective activities on the island of Rhodes.

She is married to Elias Aleiferis and has two children, Vasiliki, an entrepreneur, and Sophia, a criminology student in Brussels.

Antonios Giannopoulos

Assistant Professor Department of Organisation Management, Marketing & Tourism, International Hellenic University

Dr. Antonios Giannopoulos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Organisation Management, Marketing at the International Hellenic University. He is an Adjunct Lecturer-Advisor at the Master’s in Tourism Business Administration and Coordinator at the Tourism Management programme of the Hellenic Open University and is also online lecturer of the e-learning programme in Tourism Management and Marketing at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). Previously, he had served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Neapolis University Pafos in Cyprus, Assistant Professor in International Tourism and Hospitality Management, at Deree-The American College of Greece, Lecturer at the Department of Tourism Economics & Management, University of the Aegean, Academic Director of the Hotel and Tourism Management Department at the Business College of Athens and Adjunct Lecturer at AUEB.

He has performed professional achievements within research organisations, the services industry and dynamic innovation ecosystems. Served as Marketing and Communication Manager at Corallia with acquired knowledge on innovation cluster services and youth entrepreneurship initiatives, ensuring the implementation of the corporate marketing communication strategy. He has also provided consulting services in the field of destination management and tourism satellite account, collaborated with the Athens Laboratory of Research in Marketing and the European Marketing Academy.

Holds a PhD in Marketing & Communication and an MBA from the Athens University of Economics & Business. His research was based on a nationwide data collection in collaboration with >100 hotels [supported by SETE—Greek Tourism Confederation & regional associations]. He has presented numerous works and scientific publications on services marketing, hospitality, and tourism, combined with invited speeches on destination branding and cultural diplomacy. In cooperation with local and international media, he has also published articles on marketing, branding, travel, and tourism, acting as a foreign correspondent at international events. He is Founder and Editor-in-chief of “the voyager voice”. Also served as an auditor and registered expert for EU programmes and organisations at national and European level. As an official representative in the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers, he participated in special workgroups in the frame of the European Research Area.

Aris Theodoropoulos

Greek Mountain Guide, Climbing & Mountaineering instructor, Rope Access instructor & author

Aris Theodoropoulos is a Mountain Guide, Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor, Air Trainer and Author. Aris is, perhaps, the first professional mountaineering / climbing instructor in Greece, with a huge contribution to the development and dissemination of mountaineering and extensive action in Greece and abroad. In addition, since 1999 he has been training workers at height as the official Petzl aerial trainer in Greece. At the same time, he has written a technical climbing manual, six climbing guides, and a technical mountaineering manual (in collaboration with D. Karalis). Aris Theodoropoulos took his first steps on the mountain at the age of 16 in Varasova (1980). Since then, mountaineering has been a way of life for him. In Greece, hundreds of new modern climbing routes have been opened, many of which have become classics and have marked the subsequent course of the sport. Abroad he has developed significant activity in the Alps, where he has climbed routes of exceptional prestige since the age of 18, as well as in the Dolomites of N. Italy, the Prealps of S. France (Verdon), Scotland, Bulgaria, Thailand and Jordan. He is also engaged in ski mountaineering, having made remarkable crossings and descents both in the Greek mountains and in the Italian, Austrian and French Alps.

Since 1989, he has directed the Mountaineering & Climbing Schools of EOS Acharnon, with innovative training programs that have created a tradition and have highlighted many of the most important mountaineers and climbers in our country. He has also been a Technical Advisor of the Hellenic Mountaineering and Climbing Federation, while he has directed the Climbing and Rescue Schools of the Hellenic Army of the Special Forces and has taught in climbing seminars for the physical education teachers of TEFAA and G.G. New Generation.

Since 1999, Aris has dedicated a large part of his life to the development and maintenance of sport climbing in Kalymnos, the model island of world climbing. Since the same year, the long-term collaboration of Aris Theodoropoulos with the companies Resoul and Petzl on safety issues for the training of workers at heights has begun, while he trains on a permanent basis the staff of large companies, such as, for example, Cosmote, the House of Letters and Arts , Intrakat and Compblades among many others. At the same time, it trains annually and on a voluntary basis the members of EMAK in rescue on steep slopes and in ski resorts.

Finally, Aris Theodoropoulos maintains the column ‘Echoes of the Mountains’ in Korfes magazine since 1989, while his important writing work includes the technical manuals ‘Climbing’ (published by Anavasi 2001) and ‘Mountaineering’ (published by EOS Acharnon 2007) , the ‘Varasova’ climbing guide (1996), and five Kalymnos climbing guides (2000, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2010), the last of which is distributed worldwide and is in its third reprint.

Nikolaos Tahiaos

Deputy Minister of Infrastructure & Transport

Nikos Tachiaos was born in Thessaloniki in February 1962. He is married and has a son.

He is an agronomist – topographical engineer of the University of Athens. and worked as a freelancer.

He speaks English, French, German.

During his student years he was a member of DAP-NDFK, while from 1987 to 1990 he was president of ONNED Thessaloniki.

For five consecutive four-year terms, from 1987 until 2006, when he decided to leave, he was elected municipal councilor of Thessaloniki. During this time he served as vice president of the Municipal Information and Entertainment Company (1991-1994), as deputy mayor for culture (1995-1996) and as deputy mayor for architecture (2002-2005).

From July 2007 until October 2009 he was the Deputy Secretary General of International Economic Relations and Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Between 2004 and 2010 he was a member of the Steering Committee of the Technical Chamber of Greece.

From September 2019 until June 26, 2023, he was chairman of the Board of Directors of Elliniko (formerly Attiko) Metro SA.

On June 27, 2023, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport in the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

From his professional activity and having participated for many years in Spatial Planning, Housing and Environment Councils and Urban Planning Issues and Challenges, in the Executive Committee of the Regulatory Plan and Environmental Protection Organization of Thessaloniki and in the Supervisory Board of the Board of Chartered Appraisers, he has gained special experience in matters public administration, public contracts for studies and projects, spatial planning, environment, property and land values.

He writes articles in various publications and for years has been particularly active on social media, especially on Thessaloniki issues.

His twenty-year term in the municipality of Thessaloniki has left significant successes.

Iconic projects and breath-taking designs bear the imprint of his recognized decisive contribution, such as the regeneration of the new beach, the completion of the competition for the town hall, the urban planning and architectural competition for the South-East Gate, for which the municipality was awarded by the Hellenic Association of Urban and Spatial Planning and the pilot program of the expansion of the Vegetable Garden area.

In the field of culture, the organization of the 30th Dimitrios anniversary with the participation of top artists such as Alan Bates with the Peter Hall Company, the Philip Glass, Momix, Zbigniew Preisner and Milva and also Helmut Newton’s retrospective which the photographer himself opened on his only visit to Thessaloniki, the appearance for the first time of a circus without animals in Greece (Cirque Baroque) and street artists like Urban Sax.

Vasiliki Loizou

Secretary General of Private Investments, Ministry of Development

She is a political scientist – internationalist, with postgraduate studies in European Politics and Administration at Panteion University.

She specializes in strategic planning and reforms, with an emphasis on the economic and market sectors.

She has extensive and extensive experience in public administration, having served in positions of responsibility successively in the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Development. Especially at the Ministry of Development (2012-2015) she was responsible for monitoring and coordinating all market reforms as well as cooperation with the European Union and International Organizations, such as the OECD and the World Bank.

She was Deputy Secretary of Strategic Planning and Communication of New Democracy since January 2016.

In October 2017, she was appointed adviser to the President of the New Republic on health issues.

In the national elections of 2019, she was included in the State ballot of the New Democracy in an honorary position.

In the summer of 2019, she assumed the position of General Secretary for the Coordination of Economic and Development Policies at the Presidency of the Government, and then, from August 2020, she was the General Secretary of Tourism Policy and Development of the Ministry of Tourism.

In December 2022, she was appointed Secretary General of International Economic Relations and Outreach of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Enterprise Greece with a task both in promoting exports and attracting investments with an emphasis on strategic investments.

From July 25, 2023, she is the General Secretary of Private Investments at the Ministry of Development.

Konstantinos Zikos

Vice President GNTO, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism

Mr. Zikos has practiced law for over 31 years as a Lawyer at the Supreme Court and the Council of State, a member of the Athens Bar Association specializing in the fields of: Commercial Law, Mass Media, Intellectual Property, Tourism, Civil and Administrative Law. Today he holds the position of the Vice President of the GNTO and advisor to the Minister of Tourism. At the same time, he is a member of the Board of Directors of SETE.

Mr. Zikos has worked for many years in various managerial positions in Greek companies and public organizations. Among other things, he has been President and Deputy Secretary General of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (GNTO), he is still a member of the Evaluation and Guidance Committee (Judge and Mentor) in the program of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels “accelerator” for start-ups, Special Advisor to the Minister of Tourism , Councilor-Member of the Tourist Marinas Committee until today and respectively of the Committee for the recognition of Spa Resources, Chairman of the Committee for reforming the change of the legislative framework for licensing hotels & non-main accommodation, Member of the Central Advisory Committee of the State for development investments.

Born in 1973 in the USA, she holds an MBA in Business Administration and has held senior managerial positions in port, shipping and financial services companies over the last 20 years, a member of the National Cruise Committee and a Board Member of a shipping company listed on the Athens Stock Exchange, as Commercial Director and as Management Consultant on Strategic Development, Sales, Marketing and Communication in the largest shipping companies in Greece, providing communication support to the Association of Shipping Companies.

Elena Kountoura

Member of European Parliament SYRIZA / former Minister of Tourism

Elena Kountoura is Member of the European Parliament for Greece. She has been appointed Coordinator of the Left group at the Transport and Tourism Committee, TRAN, and is member of the European Parliament Tourism Task Force TTF. She is also Member of the Committees on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality FEMM, Industry Research & Energy ITRE, and Artificial Intelligence AIDA.

Additionally, she is member of the Delegations of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean Substitute DMED, for relations with the Mashreq countries DMAS and for relations with the Korean Peninsula DKOR.

Previously, she had served as Minister of Tourism of Greece (2015 – 2019), and was recipient of several prestigious international awards, including “Tourism Minister of the Year 2019” in ITB Berlin, and “Global Champion 2019” for Destination Stewardship, by the World Travel & Tourism Council, WTTC.

During her long-standing political career (2004 -2019) she was elected six times as Member of the Greek Parliament in the First District of Athens. She had also been appointed Secretary to the Standing Committee on Monitoring the Decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, and Member of the Greek Parliamentary Assembly at the Council of Europe, PACE.

Elena Kountoura is also President of Europa Donna Hellas, the Greek branch of the European Coalition for Breast Cancer Europa Donna, advocating for the prevention and awareness of breast cancer and for claiming rights to better services for patients with cancer.

Adonis Georgiadis

Minister of Labor & Social Security

Adonis Georgiadis was born on November 6th, 1972, in Athens. He is married to Eugenia Manolidou and they have two children, Perseus and Alcaeus. He graduated from the Faculty of History & Archaeology of the School of Philosophy of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.

In 1993, he took over the management of publications ‘GEORGIADIS-LIBRARY OF GREEK’. In 1994, he founded the Liberal Studies Center “GREEK EDUCATION”.

Elected MP in Athens B region in the elections of 2007 and 2009 with the LAOS political party.

In February 2012, he joined the Nea Demokratia political party, having resigned from the parliamentary office. Elected with Nea Demokratia in Athens B in the national elections of 2012 and 2015.

In 2011, he was Vice Minister of Shipping in the Government of Lucas Papademos and in 2013 he was appointed Minister of Health in the Government of Antonis Samaras.

On July 9, 2019, Adonis Georgiadis was sworn in as Minister of Development and Investments in the Government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, a position he held for 4 years.

In the elections of 21 May 2023, Adonis Georgiadis was re-elected Member of Parliament for the Northern Sector of Athens. On June the 27th was sworn as Minister of Labour and Social Welfare.

Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos

Secretary General of Information Systems & Digital Governance

Dimosthenis Anagnostopoulos is a Professor in the Department of Informatics and Telematics in the area of Information Systems and Simulation.

He served as Rector of Harokopio University (9/2011 – 1/2016).

Since 1/2016, he is the Dean of Faculty of Digital Technology.

He was elected Chair of the Greek Rectors’ Conference (1/2014-6/2014).

He was representative of the Greek Rectors’ Conference in the joint committee with the German Rectors’ Conference (GRK).

He is a visiting Professor at Sussex University, UK.

He is an Associate Editor of Requirements Engineering (Springer).

He served as the National Representative of Greece for ICT in Horizon 2020 (2014-2015).

His research interests include Information Systems, eGovernment, Semantic Web and Web Services, Modelling and Simulation, Business Process Modelling.

He has also served as Secretary General of Information Systems of the Greek Ministry of Finance and Economics (2004 – 2009). During his service, the following Information Systems were developed: Real Estate Data Base and ETAK systems, ELENXIS, new TaxisNet, ICISNet, State General Laboratory Information System, Pensioners’ E-Services system and M-Taxis (mobile taxis).

Between 2019 and 2023, he served as General Secretary of Public Administration Information Systems of the Ministry of Digital Governance, contributing to the rapid development of the digital transformation of our country in recent years.

Myron Flouris

Secretary General for Tourism Policy & Development

Myron Flouris was born in Heraklion, Crete.

He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1995) and holds a Master’s degree in Tourism Management from Oxford Brookes University (1996). He holds a specialisation diploma in Business Technology Strategy (2003) from NTUA.

He has worked in the international consulting firms KPMG (2020) and EY (2021), participating in the design and implementation of large projects in the private and public sectors.

He also has more than twenty years of experience in the financial sector, in particular at National Bank (2008), P&K Securities (2001) and Egnatia Securities (1998) in positions of responsibility.

At the same time, he has been involved in developing and implementing business ideas, gaining significant experience in innovation, technology, digital transformation and start-up entrepreneurship.

He has been appointed Deputy Secretary for Productive Sectors (2018), Head of Digital Transformation (2019), and Head of Digital Governance (2021) for the New Democracy Party.

He is married and father of two children.

Fanis Spanos

Regional Governor of the Province of Central Greece

Fanis Spanos was born in 1984 in Chalkida and is the Regional Governor of Central Greece.

He studied at the College of Athens and then studied Civil Engineering at the Democritus University of Thrace, specializing in Hydraulic Works. Having already entered the labor market, he obtained two postgraduate degrees, in Business Administration (Professional MBA) at ALBA Graduate Business School and in International and European Studies (MA) at the University of Athens. He has also obtained an Executive Certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School in the field of Public Policy and finally speaks English and German.

He has worked since 2008 in the family business of construction projects and ready-mixed concrete, initially as an engineer and then as the CEO of the company. In 2010 he was elected Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Chalkidea, where he served as Deputy Mayor of Finance, Urban Planning and Traffic Regulations. Furthermore, he has been President of the municipal enterprise DAEPEX S.A. and President of the Secondary Education School Committee.

In May 2014, he was elected Deputy Regional Governor of P.E. Evia with the combination of Kostas Bakoyannis, while 5 years later in the Local Government elections in June 2019 he was elected Regional Governor of Central Greece. At the same time, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Regions of Greece and President of the Spatial Planning, Infrastructure and Transport Committee of the Union.

His parents are Christos Spanos and Lia Vassiliou. With his wife Maria Anastasiou, a teacher, they have had three children.

Konstantinos Rodopoulos
